HPLC Column, RP C4 Butyl, 3um, 2.1mm ID x 150mm Length, 100A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.

Additional Information:

Cogent RP C4 Butyl™ is a reversed-phase HPLC stationary phase designed for the separation of hydrophobic to moderately hydrophobic compounds. Manufactured using a traditional butyl (C4) bonded phase on ultra-high purity silica and fully double end capped, it provides excellent reproducibility, reliable peak shape, and balanced retention characteristics. As a USP L26 equivalent phase, it is commonly used as an alternative for compendial methods and for applications where lower hydrophobic retention than C8 or C18 phases is preferred.

68304-15P-2 is an HPLC column packed with 3 µm RP C4 Butyl™ particles featuring a 100 Å pore size in a 2.1 mm ID x 150 mm format. This narrow-bore configuration combines maximum chromatographic resolution with reduced solvent consumption and excellent compatibility with LC-MS instrumentation. The 150 mm length provides the highest peak capacity within this column family, while the 3 µm particles deliver greater efficiency and sharper peaks than comparable 5 µm packings. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 0.2–0.3 mL/min. Because of the low flow rates required by 2.1 mm ID columns, any HPLC system used with this column must be capable of precise and reproducible low-flow operation.

This column is particularly useful for hydrophobic and neutral compounds analyzed by reversed-phase HPLC when maximum resolving power is required. The C4 chemistry provides lower retention than C8 phases, helping reduce excessive retention while maintaining excellent separation performance. The 2.1 mm ID format is also highly favored for LC-MS applications where reduced solvent consumption and improved detector response are beneficial.
